Introduction To Animation

Introduction To Animation

The first animated projection of an animation was created in France, by Charles-Émile Reynaud who was a  science teacher. In 1877 Reynaud created what he called the Praxinoscope and used this in what he called the Théâtre Optique in December 1888 ,which was seen as the first cinema, and on the 28th October 1892, Charles-Émile Reynaud projected the first animation in public.

But then in 1928 one of the most famous cartoonist Walt Disney created the  cartoon Steamboat Willie starring Mickey Mouse this was the first animation  to use what is known as a click track during editing which apparently produced better synchronism with the cartoon Disney then went on to created the first sound and color animated film which was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs but the first actual animated film ever made on standard motion-picture film was Humorous Phases of Funny Faces in 1906 by a newspaper cartoonist called J. Stuart Blackton

  1. Nice overview Charlie, add some image 'stills' to go with descriptors to jog readers memories a little too or a short gif as a visual always help.
Will this lead onto zoetropes too and then onto your model an dzoetrope strips?
    Keep up the good work.
